Week 37 – Japanese


With the cool weather settling in, I wanted to make a soup to go with dinner.  It’s no surprise, but I love soup!  So for a Japanese theme, that means miso soup (cause I love miso soup)!  Then for dinner, pork tonkatsu and some curry and rice.

The soup was simple enough, dashi, miso paste, scallions, and silk tofu.  The curry was just curry, onions, carrots, and peas.  The pork had a double crust, a first layer of flour and some salt, white pepper, and garlic powder.  Followed by an egg dip and then pankos.

Just a note, go easy on the miso paste.  I didn’t know that and the soup was a bit too salty.  Just had to add more water, but still.
