Not As Numbing

Only because I didn’t think it was as spicy as the first numbing dish I had a few weeks ago.

Hot and numbing tofu rolls
Tight rolls of white flour tortilla-like pancakes cradle shreds of cabbage, veggies and cubes of firm tofu. It’s all brought together with a spicy Szechuan peppercorn-infused oil. Each bite provides crunch and heat that’s so addictive, you can expect to experience full-blown food-lust for weeks to come.

These were surprisingly DELICIOUS!  When they first game out, I though it was mostly cabbage with chunks of tofu and sprigs of cilantro and I thought, bah these are going to be plain.  Good thing though, cause when you go in with low expectations and get something unexpected, its just makes it that much better.  The inside had way more tofu than I thought and just the right amount of heat so that you can enjoy the taste of the dish with the spicy Szechuan peppercorns.  Cilantro is one of those herbs where if it is lightly used, I like it in the dish.  This had a little bit more than I would like, but it was clumped up in areas, so I only had to deal with it for like two bites. Even with the cilantro, these were just great, try them!

This time, we didn’t all get spicy dishes so at the end of the meal, we weren’t all wanting ice cream =p.
